Manipur International University (MIU) is an Autonomous State Statutory International University established under the Manipur International University Act, 2018 by the Government of Manipur. It is recognised and listed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India under sections 2(f) and 22 of the UGC Act, 1956 — which empowers it to award nationally valid degrees. The university has also been declared an “International Institution of Excellence,” an “Institution of State Importance,” and a “State Research Institute.”
